BILL 157 - Keeping Our Kids Safer at School


Bill 157, Keeping Our Kids Safer at School Act, is a government initiative that came into effect February 1, 2010 and affects how all school board employees handle serious incidents at school and school-related activities.  The Ministry requires all school boards to develop appropriate policies and training on this new legislation.
 
Ottawa Catholic School Board employees are required to complete a one-time, on-line workshop.  This workshop provides information concerning what is required by all school staff when they observe or become aware of unwanted and/or inappropriate actions or activities of students that would likely have a negative impact on the school climate.

Please ensure that you print your certificate at the end of the workshop in order for your name to be recorded as having completed the in-service.  

The Board does not require a copy, as we will be tracking successful completions electronically.
